Health
and safety procedures.
If
you discover a fire or hear the fire alarm leave the building
immediately.
Assemble outside the building and wait for a member of staff
or the fire brigade who will escort you to a safe assembly
point.
Do not re-enter the building for any reason until you are
told it is safe to do so by a member of the college staff.
Please note. The fire alarm system is very sensitive. It
can be activated by smoking, cooking, steam and aerosols.
Do not use aerosols beneath sensors. Keep the shower room
door closed when showering as the steam will activate the
alarm.
Should you have to evacuate the building after dusk the
doors will be automatically locked behind you.
Fire action notices are posted on all doors.
If a guest becomes ill or injured during the day the college
reception (telephone 45769) should be informed. They will
telephone for an ambulance if necessary.
If a guest becomes ill or injured during the night they,
or their team leader, should again dial the number for reception
(telephone 45769) which will go through to the night porter
at night. Telephones are situated in all accommodation houses.
