The
B.C.A.'s latest over-the board event was its Minor Tournament
at the Red Lea Hotel, Prince of Wales Terrace, Scarborough,
8th-15th May. 16 players from all over the country and the Republic
of Ireland took part.
Top
spot went to John Gallagher (Leeds) on 5.5 points, followed
by Stan Lovell (Redcar) on 4.5 and Phil Gordon (Isle of Wight)
with 4. Phil Smith (Derby) and Orlando Sobers (Birmingham) picked
up grading prizes in Group A with 3.5. Geoff Patching (Penzance),
also on 3.5, won the grading prize in Group B. Chris Brown (Cheltenham)
and Shirley Watkins (Blackpool) shared the Ladies' prize with
3 points.
Coaching
sessions were provided by John Gallagher and Les Whittle.
