This was held at the Whitehall
Hotel, Bournemouth. 12/19 July 2008.
In this event 12
players graded below 130 played in the A section whilst 8 players graded
below 60 played in the B section. In addition to the six rounds tournament
Tristram Cole conducted two coaching sessions for players in the A section
and stan Lovell conducted a session for players in the B section.
A variety of other events took place during the week including: A domino drive
which was won by Chris and Bob Brown, A rapid-play chess tournament which
was won by David Hodgkins, An outing to Wareham
which included a boat cruise from Wareham to Pool, Sheila's quize, A quize with a
difference by Phil Smith and the usual last night concert in which members
and associates displayed a variety of talents.

Philip Gordon 3-5 Philip Gordon won the grading prize.
B section: Jim cuthbert 5-5 Voldi Gailans 5
Stanley Saunders 3-5 Richard harrington won the
grading prize.
