Once again, the Old Swan, Harrogate, was the
venue for the BCA Autumn Tournament, held 28/30 October 2011. After some
late withdrawals, the final entry was 22 with 12 in the Open and 10 in the
Minor. In the Open event Chris Ross and Graham Lilley shared the top two
places on 4-5, with Chris winning the trophy on tie-break. They were a
clear point ahead of Tristram Cole and Bill Armstrong on 3-5. Grading prize
A was split three ways between: Norman Wragg, Ian Blencowe and John
Gallagher on 2.5-5, with Steve Thacker taking grading prize B also on 2.5-5.
Colin Wilson won the
Minor on 4.5-5 ahead of George Phillips 4-5 and Phil Smith 3.5-5. Grading
prize A was won by David Gibbs and Grading prize B by Abi Baker. David
Mears, who recently joined the association, was welcomed to his first BCA
event. The Arbiters were Julie Leonard & Peter Gibbs.
