4th October 2003
Harrison died suddenly from a heart attack on 4th October 2003.
Only a week before, he had attended a function and I thought how
well he seemed despite incurring a stroke a year ago.
learned his chess at Worcester College for the Blind and later
became a life member of the BCA. However, his legal professional
career, working for a number of local authorities and later in
the civil service, gave him little opportunity to develop his
chess. In later years in retirement, he delighted audiences in
clubs and residential homes with his keyboard skills.
His genial personality will be sadly missed by his many friends.
