Chris Ross’ close shave
with the world title!
Chris Ross and Colin
Chambers took part in the I.B.C.A. World Individual Championship in
November 2002 in the Turkish town of Istanbul. After 7 rounds, Chris was
one point of the leading pack and in a perfect position to come joint first
with 7/9. Unfortunately, he didn’t hold his nerve in round 8 and went down
to Zoltek of Poland in a won
position!
Colin turned in a respectable
performance coming home with 4/9.
Grand Master Neil McDonald
accompanied the two players and were also aided by Colin’s daughter, Julie,
who’s help and support was priceless.
