The Congress Support Scheme (previously known as the Grass Roots Scheme) was set up to benefit UK BCA members who have not had the privilege of playing in high-profile international events; with the second objective of seeking to encourage members to participate in mainstream congresses.
UK members eligible under the Congress Support Scheme can currently make two or three claims a year for a total of £225. Two claims would be for £150 and £75 and three claims would be for £75 each.
Please note that the scheme has now been extended to include events overseas and non BCA events that are specifically aimed at VI players. Eligible members who are novices to mainstream congresses, or haven’t attended one for ten years or more, can also claim £75/£150 (appropriate to expenditure) for a guide to any mainstream event.
