If you have any enquiries about this policy, please do not hesitate to contact us. The "Junior BCA" is a section within the overall structure of the BCA. Membership Membership of "Junior BCA" is available to visually impaired UK residents under 25. Associate membership of "Junior BCA" is available to sighted UK residents under 18. Subscriptions Membership of "Junior BCA" is free. Status Members of "Junior BCA" enjoy full membership status of the BCA. They are entitled to all the benefits and subject to all the obligations of other members and associate members of the BCA. Representation Provided that "Junior BCA" has at least ten members it will be entitled to elect one of its members to serve on the BCA committee. That member will enjoy equal status with other committee members and will be responsible for bringing the views of "Junior BCA" to the committee. Benefits Visually impaired members of "Junior BCA" shall be entitled to free entry and free accommodation when competing in BCA events. In appropriate circumstances, a guardian or guide may also receive free accommodation when accompanying a visually impaired member of "Junior BCA". They may also receive other benefits such as: the provision of chess equipment or coaching, at the discretion of the committee. Funding "Junior BCA" will be funded from money designated for Junior and Youth development. When Membership of "Junior BCA" Expires When visually impaired members of "Junior BCA" become 25 or associate members become 18 between 1st October and 31st March they can continue their BCA membership by paying half the current annual subscription on 1st April or by taking out five year or life membership. When the relevant birthday falls between 1st April and 30 September, payment for continued membership will not be due until the beginning of October.
